Thanks to the fifteen individuals who were available on very short notice, we were able to trim all the blackberries, replace the lumber in all the planters, and remove and reseat a small fraction of the
perennials. Iris roots, black-eyed Susan plants, and naked lady bulbs are in containers on the sidewalk in front of church until next Sunday. Please take as many as you can use or distribute to any of your acquaintances.
Spring cleanup will be on Saturday, March 15 at 1:00 pm, weather permitting. I hope to see you all then.

- Bed Replacement: Brad Clements, Clarence Martin, Dan Hartmanstorfer, Henderson Fullen, and John Cornell will use lumber purchased last season to replace two perennial beds, two remaining tall beds, and all remaining short beds.
- Perennial Division: Following bed replacement, perennials will be removed, soil will be added as needed, and a portion of the perennials will be replanted. Remaining perennials will be offered to interested parties.
Compost Trial: John Cornell and Helen Zublic-Fain will explore purchasing “Herd Dirt” compost for a trial in select beds.
- Weed Control & Mulching: After spring cleanup, straw (from last season’s stock) will be applied to the soil in beds designated for May transplants.
- Strawberry Plants: Luke Justice will donate strawberry plants, which will be planted as weather permits.
- Deer Deterrent: John Cornell will consult with his wife, Meredith (a master gardener), for deer deterrent suggestions.
- Tomato Cages: Liz Hoffman will purchase a four-pack of tomato cages from Texas Tomato Cages.
